There are free parking spaces in Steinmannswald. The small road is quite a challenge to pedal, maintaining a steady 10% gradient over 10 km, so it’s pretty demanding for bio riders. Bauernkohler is a tourist magnet with a great view. Afterwards, it gets very quiet and at times a bit rough. The Tote Moos is a natural highlight. Through alpine meadows, the route leads to Deutschnofen. The descent into the Vallarsa Valley (hmm, there seem to be several with that name) is tough, so only mountain bikes with fat knobby tires or pushing down. However, riding through the valley offers ultimate fun, even if it’s not a trail. Knobbies are recommended due to the gradient! Top speed on Weissensteiner Str.: 68 km/h.
