Day trip to Franconian Switzerland.
Every year at the beginning of September, the Franconian Switzerland Marathon takes place. The B470 is closed all day for this.
If you leave a little later in the day (around 11 am), you can drive a good part of the B470 from Reuth. Otherwise, from Ebermannstadt to Sachsenmühle, the federal road is closed for runners until about 2 pm. In this case, you have to take the cycling path (a bit hilly and gravel roads). From Sachsenmühle, you nearly have the federal road to yourself.
On the way back, you can enjoy the B470 to Forchheim without cars and motorcycles in a completely different way. And there are a good number of village festivals inviting you to visit. But be careful: always think about the rest of your journey home.
Conclusion: This car (motorcycle) free day should definitely be taken advantage of.
