Important – don't follow the map exactly (this tool didn't allow me to mark the exact route)! See the points of interest before setting off. For clarification, don't turn left on to Ching Cheung Road (a motorway) at its junction with Castle Peak Road – Kwai Chung; instead stay on Castle Peak Road all the way to Tai Po Road, then turn sharply left there. You'll have to push your pushbike for a hundred metres or so (this is also marked on the map) cos cycles are banned for that short section but it's not too far.
If you want, you can stay on the main road and continue on to the right – the signs banning cycles are further down.
If you stay on the main road (see the earlier point of interest), you have to bear left here and exit the motorway using the slip road. Don't worry, cycling is still allowed even though it doesn't look that way! On the right side you'll see two 'no cycles' signs.
I think this is where it's legal to get back on your pushbike.
