About this route
A simple lap of Mundaring Dam. The hardest climb is within the first 5 km on the south side, though there some other long climbs, especially on the north side. There are lots of lovely views over C.Y. O'Connor Lake, as well as pretty streams (winter), wildflowers (spring) and granite sheets.
There are multiple places to cross the two streams that make up the south eastern and north eastern arms. The shortest are a narrow track (SE) and an old log bridge (NE).
Towards the end, you will find excellent new tracks overlooking the dam from the north, and before 5pm you can cross the top of the dam.
Total distance: about 37 km. Two hours quickly, 3 hours if you enjoy the views.
