A completely flat (only asphalt) mountain biking route connecting Velingrad and the village of Ablanitsa in the valley of the river of the same name. It is suitable for family or sports outings in the midst of beautiful nature and clean air. The navigation along the route is also extremely easy, and you need neither a GPS nor a bike computer. Overall, cycling is suitable for a half-day outing. 'On paper' it has an average length, but in practice, the total ascent is very small, allowing for a good average speed. When the photos and original description were taken (in the summer of 2020), half of the route was on a dirt road. In 2021, the road to Ablanitsa was paved, meaning the entire route is now completely on asphalt. This won't make the outing any less enjoyable, perhaps even more for some, but it is good to know if you prepared for rough terrain as well. It is also necessary to be more careful while riding, as the asphalt allows cars to travel at higher speeds.
