LTG 61 - Kaltenberg - LTG 61

The route leads from LTG 61 in the direction of Penzing, where the roundabout is exited at the second exit to immediately turn left. Passing the town hall, you reach the well-signposted cycling route towards Munich. Follow this path until Eresing, where according to the route you turn LEFT at the crossing street, next right, half-right and then sharply left past the church onto Pflaumendorfer Str. Now you are back on the long-distance cycling route to Munich. Around kilometer 11, you can already clearly see the St. Ottilien Monastery at the upcoming intersection where you turn left onto the cycling route P3, reaching the monastery walls. Now turn right counterclockwise around the monastery, always following the P3 sign. Just before leaving the village, on the left-hand side is the monastery shop, inviting you to shop. Continue towards Geltendorf. Go under the double underpass and left until the train station, turn right here and follow the P3 signage through the village. Outside the village, the route continues through the fields. When crossing the next street, caution is advised, as the speed of cars can be a bit difficult to assess. Continue following the path until we turn left onto the P3 towards Kaltenberg. In Kaltenberg, we gather our strength once again, as the ascent to the castle is steep. At the top, there is a fantastic opportunity to replenish energy with a hearty snack and appropriate drinks. The travel time so far at a normal pace should be around 1:30 to 1:45 hours. 2/3 of the route is now behind us.

Well-rested, we now head into the final stretch, which is significantly easier to manage.

We leave Kaltenberg and now follow the very good signage of the cycling route P3, up to the railway underpass behind Geretshausen. Here we leave the cycling route P3 and turn right onto Kaspar-Kind-Weg, left onto "Zum verlorenen Bach", right onto Ringstraße and again right onto Flugplatzstraße. From here, you can already see the buildings at the starting point of the route. For the last stretch, you should plan 0:40 to 0:55 hours.
