About This Route

Das Gebiet der Paklenica ist eines der interessantesten Karstgebiete des Velebit-Gebirges und Kroatiens. Am Fuß der höchsten Gipfelkette des Velebit haben Sturzbäche zwei tiefe Schluchten durchbrochen, die ihren geomorphologischen Merkmalen nach eine Kombination länglicher und durchdringender Dolinen darstellen.  Am interessantesten sind die tief dringenden Einschnitte der Velika und Mala Paklenica, in denen die Bäche zwischen den mancherorts über 300 m hohen Felsen hervorbrechen. Dank ihrer außergewöhnlich wertvollen Natur wurde Paklenica zum Nationalpark erklärt. Unter Alpinisten ist die Paklenica dank ihres angenehmen Klimas, der schönen Natur und verschiedenartiger Klettermöglichkeiten europaweit als eines der schönsten europäischen Klettergebiete besonders beliebt und bekannt.
