In the opening stage of the Tour de Fati, there are opportunities for explosive climbers to grab the first yellow jersey. The stage goes over part of the course of stage 7 in the upcoming tour. In the event that one of the riders manages to take the jersey, it will sadly be taken back in 4 weeks by Jonas or Tadej (probably Tadej). The stage starts in Luz-Saint-Sauveur. The road then gently slopes down until the riders reach the village of Pierrefitte-Nestalas. Here the peloton turns left onto rue de Cauterets. Although there is a bit of climbing to be done here, the real climb only begins in Cauterets. The Col de Cambasque is short but powerful, with 5 km at 8%. The climb starts steep and the gradients quickly reach double digits. Towards the finish in the ski resort of Luz, the road levels out a bit.
