Stadtradeln: RS13 - Blau gegen Gelb

This tour provides a direct comparison of the planning variants for the rapid cycle route Karlsruhe - Rastatt (RS13) in the Durmersheim section.

Yellow variant (proposal from the regional government): The starting point is at the northern bypass of Bietigheim. From there, it goes east of the old railway line towards the north to Durmersheim in the industrial area south of Malscher Street. This is traversed in its entirety, and then Malscher Street is crossed. We continue along the Moser area to the industrial street, where the gravel plant is crossed. At the S-Bahn stop Durmersheim Nord, we return to the town via Trift Street. In a few years, there will be an underpass for trains here. Near the Hardtsporthalle, we enter Heilmhotz Street, passing by the new cafeteria, and continue north to the outskirts. The B36 is crossed at the Bürger bridge, and we continue towards Rheinstetten / Merkurstraße. In the planning process, the B36 would be the next to be crossed. So far, that's the yellow planning variant, the preferred route of the regional government. Blue variant (ADFC proposal): Instead of heading towards Merkurstraße, we now go towards Basheide and cross the railway line on the local bridge. After a slight detour, we reach the construction road of the railway. We now follow this southward to Trift Street in Durmersheim. This is crossed and we continue south, always parallel to the railway line, passing the Stürmlinger Lake to the east. After crossing Leonharderweg, we then go under Malscher Street and arrive at the first bridge over the railway line and B36 in Bietigheim. Here, the tour ends, but the blue variant of the planned rapid cycle route would continue along the railway line past Bietigheim and Ötigkeim towards Rastatt.
