El Berrueco; Senda del Genaro 15.Oct.11

I did it clockwise to try to manage it well, because I trusted it more. I started at the Villar dam. Until Atazar, you can follow the signs well. There instead of taking the MTB route I took the pedestrian one and I thought it would be shorter. The first part can be descended, but the climb is hellish due to its narrowness and the cistus and brambles, a lot on foot. Once you reach the Lozoya River, the path is good up to Patones de Arriba. From Patones, the path is good, but the BTT alternative is not well marked and trusting the route I had recorded I took the pedestrian one because I started what I thought was the BTT and, although it was a path; it was so steep that I had to put a foot down. Since it was late, I went down to eat in Patones and to make a phone call. At first it was fine, but then until reaching the top, all on foot. Maybe it can be done well in the opposite direction, but in the clockwise direction, it's a disaster. Once up, going down to El Berrueco is easy although the paths are not marked and they haven’t put much effort into marking the signs properly. In other places, there are too many because the path is obvious. From El Berrueco to the Villar dam, it is already friendly territory.
