Catrinari

The route begins right in the center of the commune of Panaci, in front of the town hall. From here, follow the paved road that continues towards Coverca and Drăgoiasa. At the entrance to the village of Drăgoiasa, a gravel road begins, which is quite drivable. This area features a remarkable cultural landscape dominated by scattered houses along the Neagra Stream and alternating pastures and meadows. From here, we continue towards the village of Glodu, located further down the valley. Once we arrive in Glodu, we turn left onto the street in the center (it’s the only obvious street you will see on the left, after the road sign entering the locality – Gura Glodului). From here to the next village, Catrinari, you must keep the left direction at the two subsequent intersections. Attention, at the second bifurcation you must turn onto the left road, the one with a rougher surface. From here, after a sustained climb, made more challenging by the stones on the road, we reach the top of the village of Catrinari. Here you will have a beautiful view of the Negrișoara Valley, and you can also see very well the road that we are about to climb to Păltiniș Pass, located to our left. From Păltiniș Pass, the road descends to the village of the same name, where we will meet the paved road we followed a few hours earlier. We turn right onto the road and descend back to the starting point, Panaci.
