Volkmarsen-Volkhardinghausen-Landau-Volkmarsen

The route starts in Volkmarsen on the Twisteweg towards Twistesee. On gently rolling country roads, it runs parallel to the L 3080 until just before the Twistesee. After crossing the Bericher Straße, we do not turn right towards Twistesee, but go uphill on the now mostly unpaved country road towards Volkhardinghausen. Between Twistesee and Landau, we cross the B450 and continue towards Volkhardinghausen. Behind the Waldschmiede (around kilometer 13), we leave the forest trails to head to Landau via Ellringhauser and Volkhardinghauser Str. The country road from Landau to Lütersheim is also paved. From Lütersheim to Volkmarsen, we follow the road again. The roads are few but then fast-traveled. For the tour, at least a good trekking bike is necessary. Especially the long climb from the L3080 to the Waldschmiede requires some fitness. But even the short climbs on the way back are quite challenging. As a Sunday outing with the family, it is only conditionally suitable.
