Geschichte(n) am Grünen Band

On the tour 'History(ies) on the Green Band' between Bad Königshofen and the former inner-German border, countless spectacular and touching episodes from the centuries-old past of this region unfold: castles split in the middle or border and escape stories around the inner-German division. But also, the wondrous metamorphosis of the former death strip into the lifeline of the Green Band is a topic. The tour starts from the market square in Bad Königshofen, initially heading straight through the gentle expanses of Grabfeld, filled with meadows and fields, northward. In the idyllic Milzgrund, it passes through the two places Höchheim and Irmelshausen. Passing the beautiful water castle of Irmelshausen, the route continues along the Green Band through the small village of Breitensee up to Trappstadt. From there, the tour finally leads back to Bad Königshofen, passing through the two charming villages of Eyershausen and Ipthausen beforehand. Tips and further information. Start. We recommend the market square of Bad Königshofen as the starting point for the tour. Since this is a circular route, you can of course join the tour anywhere along the way. Stops. A stop is only possible in Irmelshausen during this tour. Back in Bad Königshofen, several dining establishments are available again. Please check in advance for the current opening hours on site.
