• Route itinerary.

Starting from the Cercanías station, we go through the Alhama orchards, climb to La Muela via C/ Ermita del Padre Manuel and La Pista de la Solana, reaching the Refuge and the Viewpoint. From there, we head to Pino Gordo and descend to the Tajo Segura Transfer system; we follow it without crossing onto the road, and cross it when we reach the wooden bridge by the viewpoint of the Algeciras reservoir. A pause and photos are recommended there. We head towards Sierra Espuña along the Service Road to the junction with the C3315 from Alhama to Gebas. At the junction, we turn left onto the road and about 400 m later take the right turnoff towards the Senda del Agua (the fast one). We follow that route and detour to stay parallel to the course of the Río Espuña and the Transfer system along the east slope of Sierra Espuña. We reach a junction with the Taibilla Canal and descend via the bike break channel to the Transfer system. We continue along its road towards Totana, crossing the road up to the Park, leaving on the right the bridge that accesses the Fuente Alta trail (a thousand curves) and the Azburnel track. Just opposite it, we take the trail down to the Finca del Azaraque, the rollers towards Los Pavos and descend along the torrent, already the rambla of the Río Espuña crossing two paved roads. Upon reaching the third, we head back to the station.

• What makes it special?

We have beautiful views of the Guadalentín Valley, the Sierra de Carrascoy and Espuña, the Algeciras Reservoir, the Gebas gorges and the hydraulic infrastructures running through Alhama.

• Why do you recommend it?

It combines trails, tracks and paths, easy and technical climbs, very fun descents, and has all the elements to spend a great day with our MTB bike.
