- Martedì 17 agosto 2004 - 9a Tappa: <br />Astorga - Cacabelos<br />Km 67 da traccia (effettuati km 79 e 800 md. per errore)<br />Tempo nuvoloso e pioggia<br />E' il giorno della Cruz de Hierro, cima Coppi del Cammino di Santiago.<br />Marino si è ripreso, la ruota è sistemata, siamo pronti per affrontare le difficoltà di questa giornata. Il cielo è nuvoloso e minaccia pioggia.<br />Partiamo su asfalto, non vediamo più né freccie gialle né pellegrini, fortunatamente, dopo cinque km un automobilista ci avverte che stiamo sbagliando percorso. Ritrovate le frecce gialle ed i pellegrini proseguiamo su asfalto ed a Rabanal del Camino ci ripariamo da un temporale. Dopo un'ora il cielo si apre, partiamo e raggiungiamo con 8 km di salita con pendenza media del 7/8% i 1500 metri della fatidica Cruz de Hierro.<br />La temperatura è cambiata, il caldo della meseta è ormai un ricordo.<br />Nella discesa verso Molinaseca saltano altri due raggi nella solita ruota posteriore, anche Joserra ha lo stesso problema, e non ha raggi di scorta.<br />Finalmente a Ponferrada troviamo una "tenda de cyclo" con un buon ciclista che risolve definitivamente i nostri problemi.<br />Visitata la città decidiamo di fare ancora qualche km alla ricerca di un posto tranquillo che troveremo all'Albergue de Pellegrinos di Cacabelos.
