- Wednesday, August 18, 2004 - Stage 10: Cacabelos - Triacastela Cloudy weather and rain It is the day of Cebreiro and the sky does not look promising. We start off in the rain and head towards Villafranca del Bierzo. Here the clouds clear a bit, allowing some sun to appear. After some ups and downs, the real climb begins, which will take us to O' Cebreiro, a charming village at 1300 meters altitude. Four very tough kilometers, an average gradient of 15%, and while Marino and Joserra take off, challenging each other on the long diagonals to the summit, our tandem pace is slightly faster than that of a walking pilgrim (4 to 5 km/h). Arriving at O' Cebreiro, after a short break, we restart against a strong wind, surpass the Alto del Poio at 1463 meters elevation, and then speed down accompanied by a storm towards Triacastela, where we stay in a private house.
