Anjou Vélo Vintage, parcours de 71 km: la Balade

Retro bikes meet in Anjou!\n\nRediscover the codes of another era, stepping into the shoes of the road legends (Hinault, Merckx, Coppi..) and exploring the treasures of Anjou with friends are the highlights of this new historical bike ride organized on Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Saumur by the General Council of Maine-et-Loire.\n\nReserved for cyclists equipped with 'fixies' and bikes from the early 20th century to 1990, this event is also aimed at all lovers of vintage fashion and retro atmospheres. Thus, the departure village will host a flea market of old bicycles, bike builders, classic cars, and numerous bike-related activities.\n\nStarting from Saumur, the Anjou Vélo Vintage will cater to all audiences, with 3 routes of 29, 70, and 104 km allowing participants to discover the most beautiful landscapes of Anjou: Loire, castles, and vineyards. At lunchtime, all participants will be able to gather in a friendly atmosphere to taste local specialties at the four refreshment points.\n\nFor the first time this year, the General Council proposes a big bike day with: Anjou Vélo Vintage and the Fête du vélo in Anjou, the largest bicycle gathering in Europe along a 170 km route by the Loire, guaranteed car-free!
