Tour 11 (Landkreis Amberg-Sulzbach)

The tour is called 'Around the Schweppermannsburg' and follows the Lauterach towards Pfaffenhofen. The name of the brave knight, which is also the name of one of the regional bike paths through the district, is based on a legend. The citizens of Kastel perform the medieval play related to the legend with great commitment at irregular intervals in the castle courtyard during the summer. It is best to visit the castle hill on foot. After this little break, you will continue along agricultural paths. You will leave the valley and reach Utzenhofen (community-run 'Tante-Emma-Laden'). On the way back, the route takes you again through the romantic Lauterachtal – perhaps you will see climbers on the rocks? The route is also recommended in the reverse direction.
