Partizanski pohod 2012

The hike will take place along the route Avber – Brje – Kopriva – Hruševica – Ponikve – Avber. Length: approx. 15 km, altitude difference: 200 m

The hike is on moderately to less demanding terrain, mostly on forest roads and trails. Hiking footwear (light hiking boots) is recommended. The hike will take place under all circumstances, as even partisans had to walk regardless of the weather.

At the beginning, we will descend from Avber passing by the large doline Veliki Dol to the village of Brje. After a short stop and refreshment, we will visit the lavender field, shepherd's hut, a spring (kal), and then head to Kopriva. Below the village Kopriva, we will cross the main road Sežana - Nova Gorica and pass through a tunnel under the railway. A nice forest road will lead us to Hruševica.

There we will rest, then we will return towards the village Ponikve. We will pass by the Draga cave, which extends right under some houses in Ponikve. In the village, we will visit the birthplace of the poet Ciril Zlobec. Finally, there is a climb up the hill in Avber, where we will refresh ourselves with a warm meal at the farm tourism.
