Trying to avoid all the congestion along the I-5 corridor, we rode through some residential areas initially and then along the Centennial Trail through Arlington, which was the first nicely quaint town we’ve been through this trip. The trail, which was particularly nice after Arlington, ended at the Nakashima Barn, which was along State Route 9. State Route 9, and later State Route 534, were both scenic low traffic roads. The lack of shoulder along these two roads was not a problem. After crossing I-5 to the west side of the corridor, we had mostly excellent road shoulder on arterials with low to medium traffic, pretty much all the way into Burlington. Overall, this was a very nice ride with some good scenery and mostly excellent riding conditions.
