2-day route, starting from Baia de Cris station towards Lunca (tourist attraction: wooden church – historic monument) – Carastau – Birtin – Tatarasti – Prihodiste – Vata (spa resort with thermal waters) – Basarabasa – Ociu (optionally you can go from Basarabasa to Pravaleni and from there to Ociu over the hill, near the former control point Pravaleni) and through the hamlet of Banesti (the route is beautiful and involves about a 10-minute push-bike section). From Ociu, return to the main road along the Crisul Alb valley, up to the locality Tarnava de Cris where you take the left road towards Steia – Tomesti – Leaut – Risculita, from where you continue towards Bulzestii de Jos. When descending towards the village, there is a tourist sign on the right for Podul Grohotoului, a limestone fissure about 50 m long (10 minutes on foot from the road); bikes can be left in the clearing on the route. From Bulzestii de Sus, the asphalt abruptly ends at the fish farm; the road climbs arduously along the Uibaresti stream and reaches Dealul Crisului (where there is a sign towards Avram Iancu – from that intersection you can also climb towards Gaina). However, we continue towards Blajeni and reach the main road near Mihaileni (actually in the Berlin district, inhabited by certain minority communities). From there, turn right and descend along the Crisul Alb towards Brad, from where we return to Baia de Cris. Camping spots: the pass between Risculita and Bulzestii de Jos, the clearing near Podul Grohotoului, the valley of the Uibaresti upstream from Bulzestii de Sus, Dealul Crisului (there are also some shepherd huts there). In April, muddy/snowy sections may occur between Bulzestii de Sus and Dealul Crisului and on the descent from Dealul Crisului towards Cris village. The route can be shortened by about 40 km by taking the direct route from Baia de Cris towards Risca – Baldovin – Risculita – Bulzesti.
