Po di Volano, Comacchio e le Valli - Provincia di Ferrara

The itinerary starts from Runco di Portomaggiore but it's also easy to consider a start and finish in Ferrara, perhaps in multiple stages. It winds through the entire middle-lower province of Ferrara, first following the course of the Po di Volano - particularly scenic are Villanova, Final di Rero, Migliarino, Migliaro, Massafiscaglia - then touching Lagosanto before reaching Comacchio (beware here of the SP15 via del mare, which is busier). The chosen return route crosses the Valle del Mezzano (arm yourself with patience if the wind is against you and replenish supplies, as you won't find inhabited centers until Portoverrara); from Portomaggiore then the SP3 delle Anime.
