Saisoneröffnung E-Bikes in Egloffstein

No no, I didn't ride the E-Bike, but I joined to see how good those things are and how I can keep up.

Like a good cyclist should, I already rode my bike from Forchheim to Egloffstein. 18km is not much. Only the weather didn't cooperate, until Mostviel it drizzled the whole time, but the last kilometers to Egloffstein it really poured. I then sought refuge, somewhat soaked, in Café Mühle and first drank tea. I still had a good hour until the start.

One by one, the participants of the star ride also trickled in, not discouraged by the rainy weather. At the start, it only drizzled lightly again.

It then started from the Pension Mühle over Affalterthal to Bieberbach. That was a total of 150 meters of elevation, one really has to pedal hard to keep up with the E-Bikes here.

In Bieberbach, we took a small break at the Brück distillery. At the distillery, small snacks and drinks were served. Each of the adult participants was also allowed to take a small schnapps with them.

In the meantime, the sun even came out a bit. After the break, we continued towards Morschreuth and then down the mountain over Urspring to Wannbach. Here the E-Bikes again had a bit of a disadvantage. I overtook everyone without even having to pedal once. The speedometer showed a maximum speed of 66.5 km/h.

From Wannbach, we then rode along the bike path over Hagenbach to Pretzfeld. From there, we continued along the rural path to Ebermannstadt, where we entered the Peunt. Then we covered the last meters to the market square, where we entered with loud ringing.

After that, I rode my bike back to Forchheim and got home in time for coffee.
