RundumTour Malschwitz 2024

The start and finish is the municipality of Malschwitz. From here we go along the ponds and the Bautzen dam to Großdubau at the Magarethenhütte. It was one of the first German production sites for electrotechnical ceramic items such as insulators. Continuing on little-used side roads, we head east through the pond landscape to the House of a Thousand Ponds. In the visitor center of the Oberlausitzer Heide and Teichlandschaft biosphere reserve, there is much to discover. At the third stop at the Baruth basalt works, in addition to the quarry, the buildings and machinery of the technical monument can be visited. A guided tour is possible by prior arrangement. From here, the tour continues further south under the A4 motorway to the Martin-Nowak-Neumann House in Nechern. In the museum, there is much to discover about the works and life of the Sorbian artist and writer. After crossing the motorway again, we return to the starting point. www.rundumtour.de
