About This Route

Some nice hills and beautiful surroundings from Freiburg to Basel, but no crazy climbs.

After making your way to Staufen, go through the very pretty Münstertal over a decent cycling path.

Here starts a long but steady climb (mostly around 5%) along the L123.

Our top lies at the wiedenereck, where we take a long but not steep descent to Schönau in the Wiesental.

From here, one can follow the main road (317) for a very slow descent down to Basel. We took a little detour, more or less by accident, via Pfaffenberg and Adelsberg. It is a bit steeper climb (perhaps 8%), but the gorgeous views into the Wiesental are definitely worth it.
