About This Route

Aside from the short period on US 290, this was a fantastic route on low traffic country roads. We highly recommend it. We'd originally planned to ride to Hempstead, which is another 25 or 30 miles east of Brenham, but we had terrible headwinds that slowed us sufficiently that we would never have made it until long after sunset. So, we cut our losses and stayed in Brenham. One of our few sensible decisions.
