Mountainbike marathon route of MTV Schöningen.

Start: Youth hostel Schöningen Finish: Youth hostel Schöningen Route description: Asphalt and gravel road from the youth hostel to the edge of Elm along the radar station. At the parking lot at Elm's edge, turn right onto the trail towards 'Fuchskuhlen'. Continue along Elm's edge northward almost to Elmautostraße. Turn 90 degrees left towards northwest. Cross the first gravel road. Continue along the hiking trail until the second gravel road. Turn 90 degrees left onto the gravel road until the first hut. Follow the ridge path of Elm westward until the intersection near the second hut. Now go straight ahead towards the west, leave the gravel road and follow the trail. To your right is a pond. Continue following the hiking path until the next gravel road to cross. Continue following the hiking path westward. Before the main road, turn left towards south until you reach the edge of the Elm forest. Now turn left and follow the hiking path along Elm's edge towards southeast. We reach the first gravel road towards Wobeck (south) and follow it for about 250m. Then turn 90 degrees left towards north and immediately right follow Elm's edge towards east. Follow the hiking path until you cross the gravel road 'Am Holzberg'. Again, follow the hiking path towards east along Elm's edge until you reach the intersection with 'Schlangenweg'. Turn 90 degrees left and ride uphill to the entrance of the hut on your right. Now turn right onto the second path into the forest road (limestone, difficult to ride). Continue along the forest road towards east until the intersection with the gravel road. Now turn 90 degrees right and follow the gravel road southward (Twieflingen) until reaching the edge of the forest. Turn 90 degrees left towards 'Schwarzkiefern'. Follow the hiking path along the edge of the forest eastward until reaching 'Kalten Tal'. Watch out! Steep descent at the end. We reach the gravel road 'Kalte Tal'. Turn 90 degrees left uphill and head north. Until you reach the intersection with the gravel road. Turn 90 degrees right toward the radar station. On the way back, follow the entrance path toward the youth hostel. HAVE FUN!
