Roquetas - El Marchal - El Algibe del Yayo - Nuevo Mundo - Roquetas

This morning, 09/06/2012, Yayo and Roger took me on an 'excursion'... how great!!!!! They really gave me a tough ride... Roger picked me up at 6:30, and at 6:45 in the morning I was waiting for that 'endearing old man' Yayo... at 7:00 we left Carmona. With spectacular weather, around 8:40 we were at the Marchal spring refilling water, and at 9:05 passing through Zarba... I couldn’t believe it myself. The second stop was a personal discovery by Yayo, so I named it in his honor... Yayo’s Cistern, with a cistern from which Yayo and I drank water, Roger didn’t dare and I don’t blame him... we’ll see how Yayo and I fare next week... At 11:00 we were at the Nuevo Mundo junction. The two of them, as champions they are, climbed all the way up, I didn’t know when I turned around until I saw it on the map... damn it... 3.5 km more and I would have reached the summit, but my back gave me a warning and it was already past 12... so down at full speed hoping those two 'monsters' would catch me... but since I’m heavier... well... downhill... I didn’t even see them. I stopped 10 minutes at the Marchal spring to wait and called them, but their mobiles were 'out of coverage' so straight home, accompanied from the La Menea junction by my companion Silvia who was coming back from trying out for Felix’s QDD (what a machine Silvia is!!!). In short, a damn great day, spectacular weather, incredible landscapes, a great route... but best of all, as always, the company of these two 'characters'!!!!! Soon we’ll have to do more of these escapes!!!
