Route des Major

The route leads from Klingberg via Schürsdorf to Scharbeutz and from there directly along the Baltic Sea to Haffkrug. Turning left onto Altonaer Weg, the route continues past a small airfield towards Süseler Lake. Continuing right on Altonaer Weg, it follows beautiful, quiet, well-paved roads up to the L309. Here you turn right and follow the L309 for a short stretch before turning left towards Roge. Upon arriving in Roge, you turn left onto Neustädter Straße. This section also runs alongside really beautiful fields along a good road. Then you turn right onto 'Zum Major', which also defines the name of the route. On this section, you pass by the Gömnitzer Tower, a navigation mark at the top of the 94m high Gömnitzer Mountain. From this tower, you have a wonderful view in all directions of Holstein Switzerland and over Lübeck Bay. Through Gömnitz, you turn left onto Mühlenstraße to return, and then right onto the extension of Neustädter Straße, which in this section is called Gömnitzer Weg. After a short time, you turn left onto Bujendorfer Landstraße in the direction of Süsel. From here, you continue straight through Süsel, Stawedder, and Gronenberg back to Klingberg. The road again passes by beautiful fields and offers a great view of Pönitzer Weg.
