About This Route

De Rodelandroute 1 start in het centrum van Merelbeke en doet eerst Melle aan. Via Gontrode kom je in een licht heuvelend gebied op de grens tussen Oosterzele en Merelbeke. Langs de dorpjes Landskouter, Moortsele, Munte, Baaigem en Dikkelvenne gaat het richting Gavere. Daarna fiets je door de typische Scheldevallei terug naar het startpunt. Weiden, akkers, kleine bossen, molens en vergezichten typeren deze route. De naam Rodelandroute verwijst naar de nu ingeslapen baksteenindustrie (rode baksteen).
