B4 Parma- Montechiarugolo -Montecchio - Rivalta Re

From Parma, we take the cycle path along the Via Emilia towards Reggio, then take a right onto Via XXIV Maggio through traffic after the San Lazzaro arch, followed by Budellungo road, still with traffic until crossing the ring road. We pass the Monticelli thermal spa, then cycle to Basilicagoiano up to Montechiarugolo with its beautiful inhabited castle on the edge of the Enza river, where we descend via a river road to the hydraulic structure where we can cross to the right bank, i.e., into the province of Reggio Emilia. We cross the settlement of Montecchio with its castle. We continue east along secondary roads to Cavriago, then on cycle paths to the city gates, divert south to the Ducal Palace of Rivalta, then head north to pass over the Calatrava bridges.
