25.6. Angers

Angers is not exactly on the Loire, but on the bank of its tributary Maine. We are, however, camping on the banks of the Loire in a small town called Les Ponts-de-Ce, where

there is one street but seven bridges.

Angers is not far away, but we choose as our cycling route the bike paths that follow the banks of the Loire and Maine, which amounts to 18 kilometers each way.

The bike path is again quite poor and uneven in places, but there are also nice smooth asphalt and concrete stretches to be found.

In Angers, we take a tour of the old city, and then head back to camp in the now-familiar drizzle. The bike is starting to desperately need a thorough wash.

From the muddy bike paths, sand has accumulated in the wheels to the point that it's like a little pile.
