Cyclope Palencia Gravel - Etapa 6 - Baltanás - Frómista

Stage 6 demands attention and strong legs, despite its moderate profile. From Baltanás, we venture onto cork oak tracks and less obvious paths, where careful GPS navigation is necessary. We alternate between tracks and quiet regional roads to visit Antigüedad — with its iconic airplane — and Valdecañas, where the Miguel Delibes viewpoint awaits.

The open plateaus lead us to Herrera de Valdecañas, flanked by windmills, then we cross the Pisuerga River heading towards Torquemada, featuring a curious neighborhood of ground-level wine cellars. From there, we enter a very special area of Cerrato, where the reintroduction of the Iberian lynx has begun. Eyes wide open: here gravel riding also means wild nature.

The route takes us to Astudillo, dominated by its castle and another iconic group of wine cellars, before bidding farewell to Cerrato.

The stage end returns us to Tierra de Campos, where Frómista awaits, one of the most symbolic points of the entire route. Here three gems converge: the Camino de Santiago, the Canal of Castilla, and the Romanesque church of San Martín. A mandatory... and well-deserved stop.
