About this route

3

An ideal starting point is the former imperial city of Ulm with its numerous museums, timber-framed buildings, and the skyward-reaching Münster. Always following the signs, the route takes good paved roads southwest. The small river Riß accompanies us to Biberach, which delights its guests with a picturesque marketplace ensemble. The traditional historic town is barely behind us when the twin towers of the collegiate church of St. Peter announce the moor spa Bad Waldsee along with its amenities. On the rolling way to Wangen, it’s worth visiting both the Wolfegg Farmhouse Museum and the three-story New Castle of Kißlegg. The large district town of Wangen is known for its traditional weekly market, which is given a fitting framework by the protected old town center. The historic scene with its painted towers, fountains, and baroque facades soon gives way to an appealing meadow landscape. In the final kilometers, the ride passes through quiet villages and green woodlands until the terrain slopes, and the long-distance cycle path lined with fruit orchards heads toward its destination at Lake Constance.
