3. Etappe Deutschland Tour 2007, Pforzheim - Offenburg CLONED FROM ROUTE 11947

From Pforzheim, the riders are slowly but surely making their way up into the Black Forest - a route made for offensive racers seeking their salvation in the breakaway. Especially between race kilometers 107 and 132, a preliminary decision on the stage victory could be made. Allerheiligen and Zuflucht - two first-category climbs - should stretch the peloton for the first time in this Germany Tour, perhaps even divide it. From the mountain point at Zuflucht, there are only 50 descending kilometers to the finish. Whether one or another sprinter can push forward again in the Renchtal is uncertain, yet a merger for the stage finale could be possible. And so it was, the sprint winner was Erik Zabel.
