About this route
Colle del Sommeiller (2.995 m) is one of the highest rideable passes in Europe and a true legend for lovers of adventure cycling and extreme bike touring. It is located in the Susa Valley, in Piedmont, and rises from Bardonecchia to nearly 3,000 metres in altitude, in an absolutely spectacular high-mountain setting. Its fame lies not only in its elevation but in the nature of the climb: a long, demanding route with a final section on unpaved track, which turns the experience into both a physical and a technical challenge.
