Triest - Portorož / Piran

The first section from Trieste to Muggia runs on the cycle path into the Val Rosandra and is relatively strenuous. If you wish, you can shorten this section by taking the boat, saving about 30 km and 350 m of ascent. From Muggia follow the coast to Koper and on to Portorož or Piran. The section from Muggia to Koper can also be tackled on the well-known Parenzana cycle path D8 inland. Variant with the motorboat from Trieste to Muggia: If you want to shorten your trip, you can take the motorboat from Trieste to Muggia. The motorboat Delfino Verde departs from 'Molo Bersaglieri' in the port of Trieste. From the Piazza Unità d'Italia follow the path about 300 metres. A single ticket costs approx. €6.00 per person.
