About this route
Lots of nature. Also suitable for beginners as it is completely flat. Along the route, there are benches both at the canal and at the Ă–lpersee lake for taking a break. The Ellernbruchsee is also ideal for a quiet picnic. On some days, you can watch the canal boats while they are 'locking'. Very interesting is the construction area 'Marina Bortfeld' at the T-junction of the Mittelland Canal, which has its own small 'harbor' where some pretty houses have already settled. Overall, the route is very relaxing and can be completed in about 3 hours. (depending on how fast you go and how many breaks you take)
