About this route
Ride cuts across Gila River Indian Reservation. All roads, including Casa Blanca Rd, are in very good shape, with wide shoulders. Note that Maricopa Rd will have considerable traffic at times, and you might have dogs chasing you at places on Casa Blanca Rd. After leaving the city, there are only two stops with facilities. On near the AZ-587/I-10 junction, the second in Sacaton. Alternatives include taking the AZ-587 to shorten the ride (this road could be better), or going east from Sacaton to AZ 87 to extend the ride. Wind can be a factor on this route given the open, flat areas.
