Von Bad Salzuflen durchs Kalletal bis Vlotho und zurück

A very scenic route with some elevation gain. The asphalt is excellent except for the 3 km stretch between the ferry and the power plant in Veltheim. (Just barely acceptable)

A nice gimmick: crossing the Weser at Varenholz using an old cable ferry. I believe it only operates from April to the end of October, for a modest one euro.

There are some pleasant hills included. These include the switchbacks climbing up to Niedermeien, as well as the ramp up Kirchberg from Langenholzhausen to Vahrenholz – very nice :-)

Going up to Vlotho Castle on Amtshausberg is another small hill, which is best laughed about afterwards over a non-alcoholic beer in the castle beer garden :-))
