Passo dei Casoni - Passo di Cento Croci

From Cuccaro Club (stage point), you ascend to Passo dei Casoni and take the dirt road that starts steeply on the left, continuing with a series of very scenic ups and downs in the direction of Monte Gottero, which is always present and a reference point.

You reach the village of Rastrello and the asphalt road, which you descend to the right until a hairpin bend below, from where a slightly downhill dirt road begins that leads to an asphalted road.

Here the track would follow the AV path, but since the first section is steep and not rideable, it is better to follow the asphalt to the left which leads to the same point on the AV at Passo di Adelano.

From the pass, you can reach the village of Bergugliara where a grocery store is available, or continue to the left, first on flat ground then descending, passing a cluster of houses. From here the road continues climbing, passing the junction to Case Biagi, then descending to a junction where you briefly climb to a small church beyond which the road steadily loses altitude until reaching a clear dirt diversion on the right marking the start of the long climb to Passo dei Tre Confini beneath Gottero at 1460 m in 7.5 km, a road with compact surface and constant gradient.

Once at the pass, you can choose to climb to the summit or take the trail that bypasses it, which stays constantly at altitude through the forest, initially hard to pedal then wider and faster.

At its lowest end appear four distinct wind turbines toward which you should head, where an asphalt road starts leading on a gentle false flat towards Passo di Cento Croci.

The route ends at the Albergo 'Alpino', 3 km towards Varese Ligure.
