Bahntrasse nach Marienheide, über die Höhen

The starting point is Hückeswagen, with ample parking available at the sports facilities located at the town entrance. To get to Marienheide, you comfortably cycle along the old railway route through Wipperfürth.

The return route follows a scenic path past the Lingese Reservoir and over the heights of Kierspe. At Dürenerhaus, where the route crosses road B 237 from Wipperfürth to Kierspe, you reach approximately 470 m above sea level, one of the highest points in the Bergisches region, offering views extending to the Cologne Bay in the west and the Sauerland region in the east.

After crossing the B 237, a few meters ahead there is a path branching off to the right, leading over meadows and later forest to a lookout tower, which after renovation is again open as of 2012. Unfortunately, the panoramic view is limited by tall trees.

The route continues through the forest down to Elbringhausen on the K2, then turns right down into the valley and left following the valley to the Kierspe Reservoir. From here, there is another climb to Anschlag. The route continues staying on the heights towards Hohenplanken, where you turn left towards Wipperfürth. Over the Bever heights and the dam of the Bevertalsperre reservoir, you return to Hückeswagen.
