About this route
By train to Gara Lupeni, Hunedoara. Then from Gara Tg. Jiu, Gorj we go home. We pass through Straja Resort, climb up to Vf. Straja, head towards the Vulcan Pass, and descend towards Oltenia until we reach Tg. Jiu. Ideally, it should be for 2 days, we pitch the tent somewhere. Or we can stay in Straja. There's quite a bit of climbing besides cycling, especially from Straja Resort to Vf. Straja. A lot of constructions like ski facilities - gondolas, etc., have been built in the area, and it would be cool to see them in good, dry weather. Autumn is perfect.
