As the title says, I have discovered a new awesome route. It features challenging climbs and on the return downhill there are many root trails as well as a high proportion of gravel roads, lots of curves, and you can climb up 4 observation towers, provided you are not afraid of heights. The start is in Bad Pyrmont and first goes to Thal, then to Welsede. Before Welsede, turn right towards Grohnde, Bodenwerder. Here you have your first challenging climb, which is however only on tarmac, so I recommend inflating your tires properly, you can always let some air out later. As everyone knows, after a climb comes a descent, so now off to Grohnde at about 50. Arrived in Grohnde, if you go straight you come to an intersection where you have to turn right towards Hehlen, Bodenwerder. Now go a good stretch along the Weser, enjoy the beautiful view but don’t ride too slow, I think 30 is good here. Arrived in Hehlen, head towards the leather factory, watch the signs, you have to go towards Eschershausen, Seesen. Now over a bridge over the Weser and you ride directly towards a tower, which we will also do today but last. At the end of the bridge take the first street on the right and now towards Bodenwerder, Kemnade but don’t go too far. You pass the DLRG then a restaurant (An der Königszinne). Here you have to cross the street and go left into the forest. Now always nice uphill and read the signs. Take the first steep path on the right upwards, then the next intersection right and uphill. After a few minutes, inconspicuously on the left side a path leads up but signs are there so always watch for signs. Now it gets challenging always uphill to the Königszinne. Arrived at the top you have a wonderful view of Bodenwerder. After a short breather continue right close to the Königszinne do NOT GO DOWNHILL along the Loccum over the Voglerkammweg. Here you can’t get lost, always stay on the path and read signs. Off to the next target the Bodo tower. Shortly before the Bodo tower it goes really steep uphill, anyone who wants to come up must pedal hard, lean onto the handlebars in front of the saddle and be careful that the rear wheel does not spin, otherwise you have lost. If you make it up you will be rewarded by the tower with a wonderful view and you can already see the next target, the Ebersnacken tower. After recharging energy continue along the Loccum to the Ebersnacken tower with partly rapid descents. Also to the Ebersnacken tower everything is well signposted and shortly before there is another really hard uphill. At the tower you can also climb it and will be rewarded with a wonderful view. In good visibility you can look as far as the Brocken (how amazing) quickly take a photo and now go back the whole way to the Bodo tower. At the Bodo tower still a short DH before going on gravel continuing downhill from the Bodo tower it’s not back to the Vogler-Kammweg but turning left on gravel towards Bodenwerder. Here you can really open up, drift in the corners and go down at 50. Arrived in Bodenwerder now back under the bridge and up to the Bismarck tower. Here it means partly pushing/carrying and pedaling. Arrived at the top you will be rewarded like at the other three towers with a super good view. Now go back the same way down but with caution and lots of technique. Now you can see what you still need to practice technically, because here you don’t just need drifts but also hairpin turns, BunnyHops and co. This is probably the most demanding part of today’s tour. Arrived down back to the bridge and to Pyrmont. I hope you like the tour.
