Auf den Spuren der Mühlen

The described route roughly follows the beautiful Mühlenweg. It leads south from Gösmes down quickly along stunning narrow and quiet roads into Neumühle. Along the way, you are accompanied by wild romantic nature moments. The return to Presseck includes a sharp climb. We work our way back through the picturesque towns of Trottenreuth, Schlackenreuth, and Rützenreuth on narrow and hardly trafficked small roads to Wahl, and from there comfortably and quite flat over Lehsten and Unterweissenbach back to Helmbrechts. The route can be shortened by bypassing its two big climbs, making it suitable for an easy ride with mountain bikes: In Neumühle, you bypass the Wildenstein height on the stone path (Steinachtalweg); alternatively, it can also be shortened directly from Premeusel via the field path to Ochsengarten to avoid this climb; unfortunately, this way, you also miss the alpine character of the Steinachtal panorama. The route requires high concentration, especially for road cyclists, as road conditions are not always optimal.
