This is the route that was for many years used for what was billed as North America's easiest metric century (motto: "Wake me when it's over"). The 100 km was made by taking the same route as a reurn, and by a couple small detours to reach the rest stops. It was sponsored by the La Crosse Wheelmen. Folks who wanted to do an English Century (100 miles rather than 100 km) simply continued on the same highway until they reached Lansing, Iowa, before turning back. It's a pretty flat ride, and pretty. Easy unless there's a lot of wind.
