What did you like most here?\n\nRiding through vast forests in a former military area with minimal settlement, good quality forest paths without car traffic, an attractive ride along the runway of the former military airport Ralsko (watch out for any drivers testing their top speeds, it can be bypassed via the taxiway), wildlife, Máchovo Lake...\n\nGiven that the route goes through a former military area, food options along the route are limited - restaurants are only near the start and finish in Hradčany, Staré Splavy and Malá Bělá, with additional shops in Klášter and Ploužnice.\n\n* Route description: \n\nFrom the train station in Mnichovo Hradiště, we ride through the town towards Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou. We cross the Jizera and from the village of Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou (last shop before the former military area) we continue along a little-frequented road through the picturesque valley upstream of the Zábrdka stream to the hamlet of Borovice. After Borovice, one needs to find an unused and unmarked forest road towards Jabloneček, which is not entirely easy to navigate. Then we continue straight through the forest past the former village of Jabloneček and the Židlov enclosure until we reach Ploužnice (shop). Here we cross the main road and enter the former Soviet panel housing estate. After a while we turn left and between the ruins of the former military buildings we reach the airport. We cross the airport on the runway (be careful of drivers who sometimes test their cars' speed here; in such cases, it's much safer to take the parallel taxiway) to its western end, where we head southwest on a concrete road. After a while, we see a parallel asphalt road on the left between the trees - we cut through the woods to it and turn left. This will take us to the hamlet of Hradčany (pub, information center). From Hradčany we ride on the asphalt bike path to Staré Splavy (restaurants, pubs, shops, swimming in Máchovo Lake). From Staré Splavy, we take the bypass road around Máchovo Lake until the intersection with road no. 270, where we turn left and after a few hundred meters we exit the road to the right onto a forest road. This road is very poor, but soon we reach a T-junction, where we turn right, and the quality of the road improves significantly. We pass by a hunting lodge, after which we turn slightly left and continue straight on the so-called Mariánská road. We will ride for several kilometers straight, crossing the Bělá pod Bezdězem - Ralsko-Kuřivody and Bělá pod Bezdězem - Dolní Krupá roads and then descend on an asphalt forest road and then on the road until we reach the village of Malá Bělá (shop, pub, restaurant), from here it is just a short distance to Bakov nad Jizerou. Alternatively, one can continue along the side road along the Jizera to Mladá Boleslav.
