Abschiedstour

Ascent as usual via Los Realejos-La Guancha-Icod, then climb to La Vega. It had snowed on the plateau last night; the Teide and the Cañadas are wrapped in a fresh white coat. At La Vega, a fast descent to the fork towards El Tanque, on the high road above Garachico, sensational views of the town below. Continue through El Tanque towards Santiago del Teide. Slow climb. Sensational newly asphalted road. Just before Santiago, turn again towards Icod, the clouds hang very low this time and it is quite chilly. Long descent through magnificent pine forests anchored in the lava rock. In Icod, return to the high road towards La Guancha-Los Realejos. A nice final round before the rental bike is returned tomorrow. Rather a moderate ride with great views along the entire route.
