BBB-Tour (Bühren-Bremerhaven-Bühren)

We start in Bühren at the village square. From here, we head towards Viskek, but via the rural communities of Halter and Erlte. Then on to Thölstedt towards Aumühle. From there, we pass the campsite and cross the BAB 1 motorway heading towards Heinefelde, then along Glanerstrasse towards Dötlingen. A short break here is certainly advisable.

Moving on.

We set course for Neerstedt and Hude towards Berne at the Juliusplate on the Weser.

From here, it's possible to choose routes that suit you best; pay attention to signage such as the Rundweg Unterweser, Weser Cycle Path, or Weser Romantic Road (D-Route 9).

We continue directly along the dike towards Elsfleth, don't forget to take breaks. Elsfleth is perfect for that.

Next, we head towards Brake. Dikes and flat land characterize the landscape. After passing Brake, we set course for Nordenham; to the left halfway there, you can see the nuclear power plant Esensham, emitting radiation.

We pass through Nordenham and head to the ferry terminal. The timetable shows that at least one ferry departs every full hour.

Let's go across the Weser by ferry. Arriving in Bremerhaven, we proceed towards the day's destination and look for a hotel.

End of the day's stage after about 120 km.

Bremerhaven naturally offers a rich nightlife, with something for everyone.

Well rested, we mount the saddle in the morning. Nothing is nicer than cycling along the Weser through the harbor after a nice and good breakfast.

Then we take the second stage towards Bremen. Mostly, the tour follows designated cycle paths again.

On offer are the Unterweser cycle path, from Teufelsmoor to the Wadden Sea.

Always nice along the Weser to the first break in Sandstedt at the historic lighthouse.

The landscape is calm and the people relaxed in the Nord and Osterstade regions. A few more pedal strokes to the next break in Neuenkirchen at the U-Boat bunker Valentin.

We have already arrived in Bremen-Nord, where we cycle along the Weser via Farge, Blumenthal towards the city center.

A further break in Vegesack is a must, as the rich gastronomy invites relaxation.

Now on to the city of Bremen where the Roland awaits us.

A little further along the Lesum, we reach the path to the city center. Here it's advisable to do something individually before the last stage kicks off.

This takes us via Buntentor, Huckelriede and Kattenturm to HB-Brinkum. Heiligenrode is our next destination. From here then Harpstedt, followed by Winkelstedt and Reckum to Rechterfeld. A breather is always possible. Visbek, Erlte and Schneiderkrug are the last places to pass before Bühren.

I recommend planning at least three days for this tour as the landscape is too beautiful to rush through.
