This route starts and ends at the beautiful Rodin Sculpture Garden at Stanford University and climbs up to the top of the lower mountains (2450') of the peninsula that separates the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco Bay. After the ascent there is a gentle ride along Windy Hill and Coal Creek Open Space Preserves (also great hiking areas) and then technical descent through Los Trancos Preserve and into Palo Alto Hills that is a total blast! After a cool down through the Stanford University campus and the 30 miles are completed, head over to Max's for a NY Jewish deli-style pastrami, corned-beef, and cole slaw on rye. Tell 'em Schlimmer sent ya'. Cheers.
